ASL Discoveries

Elizabeth | Director
With over 20 years of experience working with individuals from infancy through adulthood, Elizabeth is deeply committed to promoting inclusivity, equity, and education, particularly within the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities. Holding a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Elizabeth has spent over a decade working with families, children, and adults, and is passionate about the importance of American Sign Language (ASL) as an essential tool for communication and connection.
Throughout her career, Elizabeth has witnessed the growing need for the hearing world to understand the language, culture, and lived experiences of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals. This need has driven her commitment to fostering greater awareness and empathy, with the goal of creating more inclusive environments for all, both within the family and in professional settings.
Having worked with families of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals across all ages, Elizabeth has seen the profound impact that early language education and continued support can have on breaking down communication barriers. She believes that empowering families, as well as those in the workforce, is crucial to creating equitable, inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive.
This is why Elizabeth is so proud to be working to bridge the gap between the Deaf and hearing worlds through ASL Discoveries. She believes we are all part of one community and that we must work together, united in understanding, to support each other and ensure that we can all communicate effectively. Through education and awareness, we can create a more inclusive world for everyone.

Julia is a certified Teacher of the Deaf who has been working with children and in the teaching field for a combination of over ten years. She holds a Master’s Degree in Deaf Education and has worked in that field for approximately five years.
Her love for children and passion for American Sign Language (ASL) is a flame that has been forever ignited.
