Job Description

AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE TRAVELING MUSIC PROGRAM LOOKING FOR PART-TIME
IMMEDIATE HIRE.  Summer position to train for the upcoming 2018-19 school year (Training NOW for permanent hire for September 2018-June 2019)

***MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL TO ASSIGNED LOCATIONS*** You must be willing to travel via public transportation or your own reliable vehicle (you will likely be assigned to a few locations)

DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO COMMUTE. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AT LEAST INTERMEDIATE ASL SKILLS.
Compensation: TBD based on your experience and credentials. Up to $25 an hour. Travel stipends available depending on commute.

Hours: Part-time, typically 2-10 hours per week

Qualifications:
If you are enrolled or have experience in at least one of the following areas we would LOVE to hear from you: ASL Interpreting, Deaf Education, General and/or Special Education, Early Childhood, Musical Theater, Speech Therapy, or any related field.

The Independent contractor MUST:
-Be ENERGETIC and ready to sing and sign in a nice LOUD voice
-Love working with children
-Display compassion when working with children
-Have M-F; Morning AND Afternoon availability
-Have great communication skills
-Be a team player
-Be a quick learner
-Must be professional inside and outside of the facilities

Internship and Volunteer Availability

Job Description

College interns are welcome to apply for possible credit and hire once internship is completed.

Check with your school to see if ASL Discoveries will fit their specific requirements.

Volunteers are welcome to apply to see if this would be a good fit for everyone. Would likely shadow our Deaf ASL Leaders. Great experience for your building resume and ASL skills!
